How long should you leave the water before adding an axolotl?

i am going to get an axolotl 2mo (its my 1st) any idea's on how long the water in the tank sld b left b4 he can b added?hav got a water testing kit, and wil test the water tttttttt is there a time limit? (like with goldfish?)
