Are amazed at how revolutionary "A Different World" was?

I saw an episode last night where Kimberly related her pain about being compared to Aunt Jemima in Grade School and Whitley found out that one of her black ancestors used to own slaves. I wanted to cry so bad. Today's sitcoms don't have the that ADW had or no one wants to see it. Soul Food was groundbreaking, but the writers and producers had to go to cable. Now, we don't have any shows like ADW, SF, or Roc.
